How to connect Instagram accounts

If you have Instagram Business Account (not Creator/Personal), that is connected to a Facebook page (of which you are an Admin with your Facebook profile), then you can connect Instagram to Publer.

|| Note: For the moment only Instagram Business accounts that have been connected to a Facebook Page are supported. Convert your Instagram account to a Business one and connect it to a Facebook Page here. Alternatively, you can connect your Facebook Page to your Instagram Business account by going here.

To connect an Instagram Business account to Publer:

Go to Accounts, click on Connect.
Select Instagram and click on Continue

Sign in to the corresponding Facebook account, with which you are an Admin on the Page that is connected to this Instagram account.
Click on Edit Settings and select the Instagram accounts you want to add to Publer.

Make sure to check all the Instagram Business accounts and click on Next.

Why can't I see the Facebook Page I want to add to Publer?

If you are getting the error "No eligible social accounts to add" when trying to connect to your Facebook Page, then most probably some permissions are missing on the Business Integrations section.

To connect to your Facebook Page

1. Try the following

Go to Social Accounts on the left side.
Click Connect, select Facebook Page and continue.
In the following screen make sure to select Edit Settings instead of Continue.

Here, make sure to select all the linked Facebook Pages that you want Publer to have access to.

Make sure that all the permissions are toggled on and click on Done.

Lastly, select all the Facebook Pages that you want to connect to Publer.

2. If the above doesn't work, try the following:

Go to Facebook Settings > Business Integrations and search for or click on "publer.io".
In the popup, make sure that you've given Publer access to all the required permissions for all the linked Facebook Pages that you want to use on Publer.

Why can't I see the Instagram account I want to add to Publer?

If you are getting the error "No eligible social accounts to add" when trying to connect to your Instagram Page, then most probably there is an error not allowing the connection between Facebook and Instagram to go through, or some permissions are missing on the Business Integrations section.

1. Resolve any issues, verifications, or alerts:

1.1 Make sure you have no pending verifications on Instagram:

Go to the Instagram app from your mobile.
Click on Edit Profile.
Scroll down to Public Business Information.
Click on Pages and check if you have any warnings.
Finally, make sure to review all warnings accordingly and try connecting the Instagram account again.

What post types are supported and what are their limitations?

Supported posts:

Facebook

Supported post types: Status updates, links, single & multi-photo posts (no limit on the photos per post), albums, videos, Reels, carousels, and GIFs.

Limitations:

Photos can be of any format and size. GIFs need to be less than 4 MB.
Videos can be of any format, but need to be less than 20 minutes long and less than 1 GB.

Instagram

Supported post types: Single and multi-photo/carousel posts (up to 10 photos), single video posts, Stories, and Reels.

Limitations:

Photos can be of any format, but need to have a minimum resolution of 320x320 pixels, and be less that 8 MB. They will be automatically cropped if they're not within the 1.91:1 and 4:5 ratios.
Videos can only be between 3 and 60 seconds long, and have a size no bigger than 100MB.
Carousels can be up to 10 photos. At the moment, videos cannot be included in a carousel post.
Stories can be posted with the help of a semi-automated notification system. Learn more here.
Reels can only be between 3 seconds and 15 minutes long, and have a size no bigger than 1GB. Required aspect ratio is between 0.01:1 and 10:1 but we recommend 9:16 to avoid cropping or blank spaces.

||| Only reels with durations between 5 and 90 seconds and aspect ratios of 9:16 will appear in the Reels tab on Instagram, otherwise they will be posted on the Feed.

How to set up a posting schedule

Everyone who manages multiple social accounts is aware of the benefits of having a strict posting schedule -- it definitely saves a lot of time! It is all about deciding which types of posts will be shared on any days of the week.

Each social account will have its own posting schedule, but if you wish, you can duplicate that posting schedule so that you use it for the other social accounts too.

Once you set up a posting schedule, you don't have to worry about choosing the time for each post individually, all the posts will simply be added to the posting queue on the next available time slot and be posted accordingly, following the predefined settings.

To set up a posting schedule:

Go to Social Accounts.
Select the social account for which you want to create a new timeslot.
Select the second option named Posting Schedule.

You can select to the Create Timeslot a time slot or Autofill the time slots.
A time slot is a detailed plan for your posts. You can fill all the information i.e on Mondays-Link posts; on Tuesdays-Photo posts; etc.
Autofill requires only the times and days. Publer will automatically schedule posts according to the times and days you just chose.

To create a time slot:

Hover over a day and click on the Create Timeslot button.

To set up your personalized Link in Bio landing page:

Go to Social Accounts and choose your Instagram account.

1. Specifying a Username.

The Username will be used to create and identify your Link in Bio URL, i.e. "BrownBeans", which you will add to your Instagram profile.
The Username can be anything but it has to be unique for each Link in Bio landing page you are creating -- limited to 1 Link in Bio page per Instagram account.

2. Adding a CTA Button.

Optionally, you can create a CTA button that redirects visitors to the URL of your Website.
You can edit the text-content of the Website Button to say anything you like, i.e. "Grab a virtual coffee with us!".
Moreover, you can choose to leave it blank and the default "Visit Website" text will be used.

3. Show a tooltip that guides visitors to click on a photo.

The tooltip will remain on the top of all photos on the Link in Bio Page.
