Why do I get 403 Error when using the URL picker / CSV import?

If you are in the process of uploading a CSV file and encounter an issue where the media files do not upload, then the URL might be returning a 403 Forbidden error. This error occurs when the server can't access the media because the links in your CSV file are not public.

Here are the actions you may take:

1. Verify if the provided URLs are publicly accesible media:

Go to the Create page and click on Click or Drag & Drop media.
Paste the Media URL into our URL picker and if it's not a public link, you may see an error message that says, "The provided URL is not a publicly accessible media, or we cannot download it."

Your file should be available for Anyone with the link.
When the links are set to public, the word "sharing" appears at the end of the URL.

Notice how the links that are not publicly accessible have not been uploaded. In such cases, please make the links public by changing the settings on your online storage platform, and then update the CSV file once again with the new public links.

3. Alternatively, you may use the built-in Google Drive picker or Media Library on Publer, which is guaranteed to work.

Keep in mind:

When you paste the media URL into our URL picker and it's not a public link, you will get an error message that says, "The provided URL is not a publicly accessible media, or we cannot download it.
Make sure not to restrict your sharing options. Your file should be available for Anyone with the link.
If you're utilizing an online storage platform, note that the URL will typically end with the word 'sharing' when it's set to public.
