How to fix constant reauthentication and permission issues with Facebook & Instagram

Make sure you do not have any warnings or pending verifications from Facebook. You can check that at your Facebook Business Manager account.

If you are:

Getting permission errors #200 when posting to a Facebook Page, Group, or Instagram account.
Not able to re-authenticate a Facebook Page, Group, or Instagram account.
Constantly being asked to re-authenticate a Facebook Page, Group, or Instagram account.

1. Try the following:

Make sure you are logged in with your main/personal Facebook account ( not a Page)

Go to Facebook Settings > Business Integrations and search for or click on "publer.io".
In the popup, make sure that you've given Publer access to all the required permissions.
If there are pages that are not selected, then also make sure that you select ALL the pages there.

Publer Facebook Integration

Make sure to scroll down, accept everything and click Save.

Publer Facebook Integration

Once you do that, try to repeat the failing action one more time.
Re-authenticating the social accounts from Publer should be successful.

2. If that does not work, then:

Go to Facebook Settings > Business Integrations one more time and search for or click on "publer.io".
Click on Remove on the right side of the integration.
You can also click on View and Edit and in the popup, scroll down and click on "Remove".

This will simply make Publer lose access to the specific accounts, so you will have to re-authenticate the accounts once again. No posts or insights will be lost.

Once you do that, try to repeat the failing action one more time.

3. Lastly you need to check your user access.

Switch to the Page you are having issues.
Navigate to New Page Experience and check the accesses for the users.

User Access on Page

Click the desired user and make sure is has all the accesses for that page.

User Access on Page

To change what someone with task access can manage, you’ll need to remove their access, then follow the steps again to give them access to different tools.

Once you are done with this, try to repeat the failing action one more time.
Don't forget to re-authenticate the existing Facebook Pages, Groups, and Instagram accounts.

Note: If you are still seeing an error with "missing permissions" after following these steps, please check that the connection between Facebook and Instagram is still properly set up. To check that, please follow the guide here.
