How to schedule Instagram Reels

With Publer, you can directly schedule and post Reels to all your Business Instagram accounts.

To schedule Instagram Reels:

Go to the Create page on Publer.
Select Instagram from the list of accounts on the left and select Reels.

Tap on Click or Drag and Drop media to upload a Reel and then continue creating your post.

WARNING: The Reel you upload has to already have the music/audio added within Publer due to API limitations. You can also post a Reel without any sound.

Choose whether you want to post this Reel in the Feed tab on Instagram or not.

NOTE: The Reel will appear in the Reel tab and Feed tab by default, but you can choose to only share it in the Reel tab. Keep in mind, only reels with durations between 5 and 90 seconds and aspect ratios of 9:16 will appear in the Reels tab on Instagram, otherwise they will only be posted on the Feed.

You can also add a Location, Follow-up comments (up to 2), Watermark, and Signature to your Reel or AutoShare them to other social accounts.

When your post is scheduled, you will be able to see the Reel in the Posts tab or the Calendar tab.

TIP: You can also schedule multiple Instagram Reels at once with a CSV file. You only need to add #Reels at the Message column of the CSV so that the post is automatically converted to a Reel and not a regular video post. Learn more here.

Limitations and Warnings:

You cannot select a custom thumbnail for the Instagram Reels, similar to Instagram videos. However, you can choose from the 10 automatically generated thumbnails.
You cannot tag or mention other Instagram accounts on Instagram Reels, just like you cannot with Instagram regular videos. Only possible for Photos.
Reels can only be between 3 seconds and 15 minutes long, have a maximum width of 1920 pixels, and a size no bigger than 100MB. Required aspect ratio is between 0.01:1 and 10:1 but we recommend 9:16 to avoid cropping or blank spaces.

WARNING: Only reels with durations between 5 and 90 seconds and aspect ratios of 9:16 will appear in the Reels tab on Instagram, otherwise they will be posted on the Feed.
