Why are my links not being shortened on Publer?

There could be several reasons why your links are not being shortened on Publer:

Your link shortener is not yet connected in the URL settings of the social account.
The issues could be related to the quota or plan allocated to a user for that specific link shortener.
Sometimes issues may arise with link shorteners that are not within our control.

Let's delve into each one of the possible cases and solutions below.

Case 1: Your link shortener is not yet connected in the URL settings of the social account.

The URL settings are account specific. This means you'll need to manually set up link shorteners for each of your accounts. So, even if you've already set it up for one account, this doesn't apply to the rest, and you'll have to set it up manually for each.

Make sure to select the 'Shorten any link' option if you want all posts containing a link in the caption or description to be shortened.

Case 2: The issues could be related to the quota or plan allocated to a user for that specific link shortener.

Sometimes, issues may arise due to exceeding the quota or plan allocated to a user for that specific link shortener. In such instances, the link shortener in use will generate an error for your account stating "Number of links-classic exceeded" or "You have reached your monthly quota. Upgrade your account to raise your limit."

To put it simply, exceeding the quota or plan means you've used up all of your allocated resources for a given period.

Simply upgrade your account if you want to keep using your URL shortener account without any limits or issues in Publer.

Alternatively, you can remove the URL shortener account and use other link shortener services we have partnered with.

If you are still not able to fix the issue after upgrading your account, simply contact us via the live chat on our website or via email at [email protected].

Case 3: Sometimes issues may arise with link shorteners that are not within our control.

There may be times when link shorteners encounter issues that are beyond our control. This could be an issue with the URL shortener's servers or a temporary hiccup in its system.

In such cases, we recommend reaching out to the support team of the particular link shortener you are using.

Alternatively, consider trying different link shorteners if the one you're currently using isn't functioning properly.

Keep in mind:

The URL settings are disabled for TikTok as TikTok doesn't support the Link in Bio feature or posting links.
The link will only be shortened after the post is scheduled/published, so you cannot see the changes when you preview the post. Make sure to check this at the Posts or Calendar tab, once the post is scheduled/published.
