Why is my Google Business Profile post not published?
Sometimes your Google Business Profile might be returning the following error:
Error from Google: Creating/Updating a local post is not authorized for this location.
Your business is under a restricted category (i.e. hotels) that is not eligible for posting.
Your post contains a phone number in the captions or banner image.
You are using language that goes against Google's Community Guidelines.
Your permissions may have been changed, or revoked, thus not allowing you to post.
Depending on which error it might be, take the necessary action, such as change the category, remove the inappropriate language, or give the full permissions respectively.
Take a look at Google's forums to learn more about why this might be happening to your account.
As per Google's guidelines for error #2, phone stuffing or including a phone number in your post content is not allowed to prevent risk of abuse. To be able to post normally, you have to remove the phone number from the captions or banner, as it is against Google's guidelines. As a workaround, you can use the "Call Now" CTA option to display the phone number, or make it available on your Business Profile or website instead.
Also, don't forget about #3. When you go against Google's guidelines, then your posts will not show up on your Google Business Profiles. For example, you cannot use the phone number in your captions as it is against Google's guidelines. Learn more here.
