How to directly post Instagram stories

Publer now offers the ability to post Instagram stories directly within the platform, streamlining the process of publishing pre-made content. Scheduled stories can be automatically published, saving you time and effort.

In addition to direct posting, Publer will continue to support stories via push notifications/reminders, to make last-minute modifications such as adding stickers GIFs or music.

To schedule Instagram stories:

Go to the Create page on Publer.
Select Instagram from the left and click on Story.
Click on Select or Drag and Drop media and upload a media.

Schedule Instagram stories directly

Once you upload the story, below the media, you will have the option to post the story automatically or to get a reminder when it is ready.

You can use the built-in photo editor to make some last minute changes, such as add text or resize the photo.

Finally, schedule the story accordingly.

Notes & Tips:

You cannot find/add the same elements (i.e. links, stickers, emojis, GIFs) you have on the Instagram app when you schedule your story within Publer. However, you can use the built-in photo editor to make a few last minute changes.

Due to API limitations from Instagram, it is not possible to collect insights/analytics for Stories.

It is not possible to sync Instagram Stories into Publer, so you won't be able to see old story posts on Publer. However, all the stories that you share using Publer will be stored under Posts > Posted and you will always be able to access them in the future.

You can still schedule Instagram post via push notifications, which allows you to edit your story on the Instagram app before you publish it and add stickers, GIFs, tags, etc. Learn more about that here.

You can use the built-in photo editor to make last minute changes, such as add text, change the aspect ratio, crop/resize the photo, and a few more options.
