(Mobile App) How to add a location to Facebook and Instagram posts

Location tagging is only available for specific types of posts on Facebook Pages and Instagram Business accounts

It is always a good idea to let the audience know where your brand is located. This way, it can grow fast sales and get real-time feedback. Publer provides a Location feature for your posts. Adding the location to the social networks' posts on Publer is the same, but their previews appear differently.

To add a location to your posts:

Navigate to the Create page.

Select at least one Facebook Page or Instagram Business Account and start creating your post.
Click on the Location icon.

Enter the desired location you want to add, select it, and click the Save button.

You can also customize the location tag when posting to multiple Facebook Pages and Instagram Business Accounts

Make sure to click on Save.

Pro-tip: You can set a default location to tag under social account settings.

Note: Meta API may not always return the desired location, especially if there's no Facebook Page associated with the location, i.e. cities and countries. Learn more about how you can work around this API limitation here.

Keep in mind:

Location tagging is available for Facebook Pages and Instagram Business accounts. The other social accounts don't support geo-location tagging due to API limitations.
If you are creating the same post for Facebook and Instagram and want to add locations to both of them, you will be given two separate options so that each social account will have its own location.
If you want to Auto-Share a Facebook post to Instagram (or vice-versa), the location won’t be shared.
Twitter/X no longer supports the ability to search for a location to tag. Therefore, only Facebook Pages and Instagram Business Accounts will have the ability to tag locations.
