How to disconnect URL shorteners

What are Publer's link shorteners?

Link shorteners are a great tool for everyone on social media, helping you connect and engage with your audience more effectively. Keep your posts clean and concise to attract more views.

There are many link shortening websites to choose from, each one simple yet powerful. In Publer, you can use any of the following: Bitly, Rebrandly, PixelMe, Switchy, JotUrl, RocketLink and RetargetKit.

All you need to do is connect your favorite URL shortener with Publer and all the Links (including those in post descriptions) will be automatically shortened.

The URL settings are disabled for TikTok as TikTok doesn't support the Link in Bio feature or posting links.

To disconnect a URL shortener:

Go to Social Accounts and select a social account.
Then, navigate to the URL Settings tab.

URL Settings tab

On that page, scroll down to where it says Disconnect Bitly and click on Disconnect.

Finally, confirm that you want to disconnect the URL shortener.

Moving forward, your links will not be shortened anymore for this social account. If you want to disconnect the URL shortener for other social accounts, you would have to follow the same process for each account.

For more information on how to set up a Link Shortener, click on the respective link shortener: Bitly, Rebrandly, PixelMe, Switchy, JotUrl , RocketLink and RetargetKit.

Keep in mind:

The links will only be shortened after the post is scheduled/published, so you cannot see the changes when you preview the post. Make sure to check this at the Posts or Calendar tab, once the post is scheduled/published.
You can choose to shorten any links, which will shorten links shared in the caption, comments, and anywhere else, or to shorten only link posts, which will only shorten the main links in the post.
The URL settings are disabled for TikTok as its API doesn't support the Link in Bio feature or posting links.
